I've just successfully installed 10.12.6 on a machine with an ASUS Maximus Formula II + Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 + Radeon HD 5850. Hooray!
I've got two problems right now, the primary one being the Ethernet driver -- it doesn't exist. This board is apparently a Marvell Yukon chip, which IONetworkingFamily.kext seems to have entries for.
