I bought an Edimax EW-7811Un wireless networking USB adapter. When I connected it and installed the driver (EW-7811Un_Mac_driver_v1.0.1.4), I was disappointed to find that, to macOS (10.13), it looks like an Ethernet adapter: in the Network system preferences it has an Ethernet icon and says "Cable Unplugged".
