Cannot share files

I have upgraded to High Sierra via a clean install. Everything works nicely EXCEPT I can't seem to get file sharing to work. I have even applied the " sudo /usr/libexec/configureLocalKDC " released by Apple but I still can't share files. I can see my shared computer but the program I'm using to access the computer (in this case PlayerXtreme on the iPad), returns a "Folder is empty" message. It can't see the Public folder as well. The steps I've used to activate File Sharing is as recommended...
